Finally Relief

We all need a little relief every now and then especially during holiday celebrations. Hopefully, we will all be doing some celebrating this year even if it’s on a smaller scale than past years. I still plan on making my holiday feast. My son would not have it any other way.

So here are some natural remedies to keep on hand for those “uh oh” situations like diarrhea, constipation, and gas. Why natural and not the standard over the counter chalky stuff? They actually cause more harm than good.

These are a few natural alternatives I recommend to clients and why:

Ginger – relieves pain and nausea almost instantly. You can buy organic ginger tea but I prefer to make my own. I chop up the ginger and bring it to a boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer 5-10 minutes. Strain the ginger or once it cools you can suck on it or chew it. Add a slice of lemon or orange to maximize the effects.

Apple cider vinegar – reduces heartburn and sour stomach. When we do not have enough acid in our stomach, it creates more. Adding natural acid will reduce the amount of extra acid the stomach is producing. I am sure there are lots of fancy ways to incorporate apple cider vinegar, but do it old school, in a shot glass.

Peppermint – and not a candy cane lol. Natural peppermint tea, oil, or just chew some leaves or add to a detox drink. In minutes it relieves gas, bloating and speeds up digestion to relieve an overfilled tummy 🙂

Digestive Enzymes –  you can find them online or in any health store. As always choose something all natural without artificial ingredients. I find they relieve indigestion in about 20 minutes and you can take it as needed or multiple times a day. Actually, I gave one to my son last night after he gorged on pizza.

Not sure if digestion is dragging you down?
